'At My House' Survey

I sort of love reading these on other blogs, so here's my go at a survey I've seen floating around.

Household chore I actually enjoy: Washing dishes....I find it oddly therapeutic to spend time washing them! On the flip side, I haaaate doing laundry (as evidenced by the massive piles that are endlessly sitting in our bedroom).

Biggest house disaster: Our washer and dryer. They look like they're from the 70s, and maybe they are! When we moved in we said they were something we'd put on the long-term replace list and they quickly moved up the list when something got jiggled in our dryer recently and now it sounds like a construction demolition site every time we use it. When we went to buy new ones, though, we realized that nothing was going to fit in the space (the ones that are there now are literally jammed in and if we were off by the smallest amount with the new ones, we wouldn't be able to return them and would be up a creek!), so we ended up having to spring for stackables. On a happier note, our biggest house success to date is definitely the kitchen!! I suppose I still need to share more photos of the redo...

Before company arrives, I hide: Shoes and socks! Somehow we always end up with many, many pairs of each scattered around the living room at the end of every week. The same was true for coats, until we got this coat rack, which we love.

Most recent music download: I don't even know! The Taylor Swift album a couple of months ago? I've been sticking to Pandora mainly for music.

The last thing I bought online: Dwell Studio crib sheets and a throw pillow for the nursery from Zulily that were on super sale.

I hate to shop for: Ummm, nothing? :) Actually, at this point- maternity clothing. I'm so sick of what I have and don't think it's worth buying much more, so I'll continue rotating through my weekly uniforms I suppose.

Favorite family ritual: It's funny - I mentioned to CP last weekend that I used to hate lazing around on weekend mornings and felt like I always needed to be doing something, but this winter I've been soaking up our hours of sipping coffee and watching Meet the Press on Sundays (and cuddling with Sloan, of course)!

How did I ever live without: Amazon Prime. Amen.
