So many gods, so many creeds, so many paths that wind and wind, while just the art of being kind is all the sad world needs. -Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Still Searching for Nessie....
As we were cleaning out the apartment and getting prepped to move, I came across my photo albums from my year abroad. I spent my third year of college in Edinburgh, Scotland and it truly was one of the best decisions I've ever made. A year is a long time to be away from friends, family, and familiar places, but I knew that I would have the fifth year at UVA for my master's degree, so it made sense to take the plunge and stay for the entire year. I was fortunate enough to have family visit me and I stayed with the Ohms in Germany for Christmas, which was such a treat. I'll never forget carrying torches at night in a parade with my mom during the New Year's festival (Hogmany), hitting up the pubs with my dad while he was on crutches with a broken ankle, and driving from Edinburgh to London with my Uncle Gar.
There's not an adequate way to describe the experience of spending a year with people from all over the world as we explored the hidden gem of a city that is Edinburgh. I really do mean that.....Edinburgh truly is an exquisite city that typically takes a back seat to London, but is SO worth the visit if you can make it over there. I literally lived down the street from Edinburgh Castle and had such a blast exploring all of the nooks and crannies of the area. I realize it's an experience I'll never be able to replicate, although I'm dying to make it back over for a long vacation.
A couple of tunes that I discovered during my year there and always bring back so many memories when they come on....
