At three weeks to go, we're feeling ready for baby Pike to be here! Some updates....
-I've really started to slow down. Gym time is maxed out around twenty minutes these days before I'm wiped and things are just feeling heavy. Getting out of bed is a project these days, as well as putting on socks.
-I have a hunch this little one is going to come early (of course, now that I say that, she's going to be days late I'm sure), but she's turned down and it feels like she's going to crawl out of me several times a day now, so we'll see!
-CP and I are really trying to enjoy some quality time together these last few weeks. I've cut out pretty much all after school commitments so we can have the evenings together and we've been eating out way more than we should be, but it's so nice to get out together since we know things are going to change drastically very soon (also, let's be honest- food is one of our major love languages!). We've also started watching House of Cards, so we're enjoying settling in for an episode a night.
-We went ahead and bought a Nikon lens camera since we know we'll be taking lots of photos, and I'm hoping to share some of the nursery soon! Side note: Sloan has made her presence in the baby's room VERY well known- she sniffs every single thing while rubbing her face all over it and has found a new favorite spot on the nursery chair. Of course!
-We're waiting to share baby Pike's name until she's here, but as it turns out, she has the same first AND middle name of a student in my class - what are the odds?! I have a feeling the student is going to be feeling extra special when she finds out!
-I'm starting to feel nervous about what my days are going to look like once CP's paternity leave is over and it's just me, the baby, and Sloan at home. I live on a lot of interaction every day, so the thought of having no one to really talk to for hours is scary! I have no doubt the days will fly by and I'll be wondering where the past eight hours went most days, but still - I (sort of!?) joked to my co-workers that I would have to Skype into classes :)
-I ask CP nearly every day if he thinks baby Pike will have have hair - I'm so curious!!
At under a month to go, we really can't wait to meet you little one!
The countdown is on!!!!! The world is waiting for you, baby Pike!
