So many gods, so many creeds, so many paths that wind and wind, while just the art of being kind is all the sad world needs.

FLORIDA
To say our trip to Florida was much needed and anticipated would be an understatement! My mom, CP, and I went with the intention of not being home for the year mark since my dad passed (a wise decision for our family), but it was also a wonderfully warm retreat from the dreary, cold weather. CP and I had stayed at the Loews Coronado Bay resort for part of our honeymoon and it was a dreamy vacation, so I had a feeling the Loews Don Cesar in St. Petersburg, FL wouldn't disappoint. Fortunately, I was right! We had an incredibly relaxing and fun four days there.
The thing that impresses me the most about the Loews hotels and resorts is that everyone is so darn friendly! From the concierge to the bar staff and cleaning people, everyone always goes out of their way to greet you and engage in conversation. The Don Cesar was scooped up by Loews in 2003 (although its been around forever and has a neat history), but because it's a historical site, there's a lot that can't be changed or renovated. Nonetheless, the interior of the hotel was flawless and obviously you can't miss the pink exterior :)
We spent each day at the beach, which was only a few steps from the hotel and pool area. They had umbrellas, cabana beds, chairs, and all of the other gear available for rental and it never seemed overly crowded while we were down there. It was definitely nice to order our food beachside and I had my share of fun virgin drinks (although pina colada, you're mine next year!!). We actually didn't leave the hotel once, which speaks to the quality of the food - it was delicious! The server at the casual restaurant on site became very familiar with us by the end of the weekend.
I think next year we'll have a car with us so that we can explore more of the surrounding area. Apparently downtown St. Pete's is quaint and fun, although we weren't feeling bored or antsy to get out this time around! My mom and I also indulged in the spa treatments before we left, which were heavenly. If you're looking for a relaxing and inclusive vacation spot, I would highly recommend the Loews hotels/resorts.
