Wrap it Up, Friday Edition

I'm a little obsessed with the song. And by a little, I mean a lot.

Last night we had a slaw from our Blue Apron box with kohlrabi in it. Have you heard of it? Neither of us had, but it was delicious. I'll share the recipe for the slaw next week.

This weekend will be a busy, but fun one. The main event will be running my mom to the finish line of her second half marathon! I have to be honest, after the first one last spring, I thought she'd check it off the bucket list and let her running shoes collect dust. Surprisingly, though, as soon as we crossed the finish line she was asking when we were going to sign up for the next one. We're running the Wilson Bridge 13.1, which was actually supposed to be held three weeks ago, but was postponed due to the government shutdown (most of the race is on the GW Parkway).

Nike Women's Half - Spring 2013

Enjoy this beautiful fall weather while it lasts! It already makes me sad that the leaves are fading and the temperatures are dropping. I pulled out my vitamin D pills this week and will be taking them religiously through the fall and winter.

Sloan says Hi! She's had a rough week with messy crates (after two weeks of being accident free!), and while it stinks to come home to a poopy puppy (literally), my heart still melts every time she crawls under the covers and snuggles up against us. Love this dog so much.

Please keep those in the Philippines in mind this weekend - a somber reminder that mother nature is not a force to be reckoned with.
