It's incredible how many similar characteristics Sloan and Harper share. They both LOVE to snuggle and shadow you around the house, they both sleep with their paws straight up in the air sometimes, and they also both love to shimmy their way in right behind your back when you're sitting on the couch. Since Sloan is only eleven weeks old, she can't get up the stairs or jump on the couch yet but she sure let's us know when she would like to do either. Aaaaand, then there's the pottytraining. I was relating this part to babies the other day. She's just too young to know when she has to go, so just like babies she goes whenever her body tells her too....except she doesn't have a diaper on. This too shall pass with time :)
Given that my family's dog growing up was psycho and probably should have been on a high dose of Prozac, it's incredible to have Sloan jump right up and lick our faces to pieces or fall asleep on our chest for hours on end. She really just loves a lot of love and cuddles. Oh, and she's totally becoming the social queen of the neighborhood. Until now, we were practically the only ones in our development without a dog, so Sloan is making up for lost time by being sure to play with everrrrryone we come across - person, dog, piece of newspaper, you name it. I have a feeling she's going to love the dog park when she's old enough to be able to go.
Some highlights of our week with her....
-She peed on me while we were bringing her home (it was a three hour drive and since she doesn't have all of her shots, we couldn't let her go on the side of the road). She felt SO bad and whimpered afterwards as she looked at me with her puppy dog eyes
-She licks our faces when she has to go outside in the morning- cutest thing ever-The dog will fall asleep in ANY position- wrapped up in a ball, legs straight in the air, neck hanging down....you name it, she's comfortable
-We took her to Old Town Alexandria on Saturday night, and I told CP that I'm glad he's wifed up because the girl is a chick MAGNET! She totally stole the show, and we even had one person semi-seriously ask how much we would sell her for
-My parents have a fenced in backyard, so we took her over there twice this week and ran her silly. She loooooves to play chase and romp around
-Her teeth are super sharp and she has a death grip when something is in her mouth- the other day she was able to drag the bathroom mat out of the bathroom and all the way into the living room
-Sloan isn't quite able to do stairs yet, although she's eager to try at times. The other day she got about 3/4 of the way up the staircase and then tumbled all the way back down :( I was nervous that she might have a concussion, but in true puppy fashion, she bounced back (but has since avoided that staircase, and I can't blame her!).
How she spends about half of her day
She loves to nibble
Heaven.
Kisses
We love you, sweet Sloan!!
