So many gods, so many creeds, so many paths that wind and wind, while just the art of being kind is all the sad world needs. -Ella Wheeler Wilcox

San Andreas Fault
When my cousin Garrett was visiting the other week, we were doing a late night drive into DC when The Cranberries came on the radio. They were by far one of my favorite bands when I was a young teen, and it got me thinking to my other favorites as well. The list includes: Alanis Morissette, Natalie Merchant, Don Henley, Counting Crows, Natalie Imbruglia.....and maybe the Backstreet Boys. To me, Natalie Merchant always had the purest voice. I'm forever thankful to my dad, who was always on the lookout for good concerts at the 9:30 club -- one of which was Natalie. Then there was the other time we went to see Blues Traveler there on Halloween and my talented friend Matt got to jam out with them on stage. Back to Natalie, though....I think the reason I love her so much is because her lyrics are outlandish at times, and yet equally meaningful. She's singing about natural wonders, but your mind wanders to mankind in general.
San Andreas Fault moved its fingers through the ground, Earth divided, plates collided, such an awful sound.
