Mystery Solved

Recently on evening strolls around the neighborhood, I noticed what appeared to be historical reenactors walking around. To be honest, it took me a few good looks to finally reach that conclusion. I was still befuddled though since our neighborhood doesn't really have any venues or activities that would require such individuals. Then I started wondering if they lived in the neighborhood and my mind continued to wander.

Well, on Friday evening while I was on my way to a friend's house just a couple of miles away, I happened to drive by Fort Ward and suddenly it all made sense. The mystery surrounding the wandering reenactors was solved.  I know that many people in the DC/Northern Virginia area live near historical sites, but I would like to boast that according to this site, "Fort Ward is the best preserved of the system of Union forts and batteries built to protect Washington, DC during the American Civil War".  I ended up running over there to explore and they happened to be in the middle of a reenactment with all sorts of activities for visitors to participate in.  While I didn't participate, I did wander around and found a ton of picnic spots, trails, and areas to explore. They even have a pavilion theatre, so I'd be interested to find out what type of shows they have there.  Perhaps I'll muster up the courage to approach our wandering reenactors.....

Here's another one from Of Monsters and Men (seriously can't get enough of them recently)
The bees had declared a war, the sky wasn't big enough for them all. The birds, they got help from below, from dirty paws and the creatures of snow.
