In response to the first article as a coach of my students at two different schools now, we are required to take a course of how to recognize the signs of concussions. We are to share the info with our athletes and send info home to parents. We had quite a few this year. One very serious... to the point where the girl has had so many in her life she is no longer allowed to play any sport... and quite a few where the girls needed to have reduced workload and class schedules and sit out from sports for a few weeks. Thankfully we're starting to recognize the signs for traumatic brain injury so that severe impairment and death can hopefully be avoided.
ReplyDeleteAndrea, it's awesome to hear that you all are required to share the information with your athletes and their parents. Hopefully more awareness will result in fewer concussions!
