Getting Crafty

I've been having a great time with the two kiddos that I'm babysitting this summer. S is a rising third grade boy and E is a rising first grade girl.  I'm with them from 9-1 each day and we've been keeping busy busy with lots of fun activities. Their mom was kind enough to kick in $20 for crafts each week, so we've been doing all sorts of neat projects. It's refreshing to do engaging, creative things with the kiddos as opposed to having them glued in front of the TV or iPads all day.  Here are some of the projects we've been working on...

gum drop and kabob stick structures

decorating foam shapes (the foam pieces are only $1 each!)

jewelry with pipe cleaners

button caterpillars

today we started canvas paintings (S loves Monet....can you tell?)

Pinterest has been an awesome resource for looking up projects, especially since I'm not creative at all. Our four hours fly by each day and the kids are loving that they get to keep what they've made.
