There is a particular student in my Language Arts class who has incredible talent, especially when it comes to creative writing. The girl's got it goin' on and I have no doubt I'll be browsing the virtual shelves of Amazon one day and come across her name. Much like Jane Austen, she writes about marriage and classes. Unlike Jane Austen, though, she focuses on these topics through the eyes of....wait for it....forest animals. Don't believe me? Here's a little snippet that made my afternoon....(the characters at this points are humans, trying to save the forest animals).
"...Her pursed lips made her look like she was sucking on something incredibly sour, and their bright red color made it possible for you to see them all the way from Cincinnati, Ohio. She was in a spotless blue suit, obviously designer (Forest John knew a lot about designer clothing ever since Prada wanted to do a photo shoot in the woods for their outdoors line), but the most intriguing thing about her was her eyes. They were the most beautiful shade of dark grey, and they sparkled like the sequins on Kim Kardashian's wedding dress."
See what I mean? The girl has talent. I dont' recall what my writing revolved around when I was in 6th grade, but I'm positive it wasn't nearly as laugh out loud funny as this. This is the same girl who decided to write about how I saved the space pandas last week when we had free time at the end of class. See why I'm going to miss these kiddos in a few short weeks??
