Avery Update + Newborn Photos

Avery will be two months old this week - eek! The munchkin is growing like a weed and it seems like every week or two we're experiencing what seems like a growth spurt where all she wants to do is eat, eat, eat for a day or two! Avery continues to be a super mellow baby and she still looooves to sleep. We finally started cracking some smiles out of her and it's pretty darn adorable. We have lots of fun things on the agenda for her first summer, including many trips to the pool, spending a day on the Shenandoah River, a trip to Rehoboth in August, and some summer festivals (oh, and let's not forget another visit from Auntie Mere for the TSwift concert!!). If you have little ones and live in the Northern Virginia area, I highly recommend using Our Kids to find out about the plethora of fun things happening all over the area! A friend gifted me a membership (thank you, Megan!!), but now that I've started using it I would gladly play the $26/year because it has been awesome.

Backtracking a bit now. When I was pregnant, I knew that newborn photos were 100% on the agenda for Avery. There's just nothing cuter to me! Some friends had used The Kama Photography for their newborn photos and I instantly loved the look of Karolina's photography. Prior to Karolina coming to our house for the photos we weren't quite sure what to expect in terms of the process itself (other than that we needed to keep Avery up for four hours beforehand, which at the time was basically impossible and included a lot of cold washcloths!). When Karolina arrived though, she was beyond thorough and could not have been friendlier. Karolina was also incredibly patient and clearly knew what she was doing when it came to keeping Avery asleep while maneuvering her this way and that way! Both Chris and I are so grateful for these photos and are looking forward to working with Kama again down the road. I'm hoping that Avery will love looking at these photos when she's older, too! Here are some of the snaps if you would like to see them.....

Love you, sweet baby girl! We're so beyond grateful to be your parents and love being on this crazy, wonderful adventure with you.
